One of your questions that I didn't see answered is your most important one: Hello /u/jadedhomeowner! You are asking some good questions, and getting advice of mixed quality. json export or something like that, but I don't know anything more about Vaultwarden and can't find the original post. Thoughts or recommendations? I remember reading about Vaultwarden as potentially able to work with a password protected. That is mitigated I guess to a point in that I own my encrypted machine and I would download directly to an encrypted external drive. So am I right in thinking the only full-proof re-usable backup to access without BW is a plaintext one? I'm not in love with doing this as I believe some browsers might create a temporary file elsewhere while I download it. To clarify though, if BW did not exist, this backup would be useless, correct? I recently did my first backup using the newer password-protected version that is itself on an encrypted external drive, so that it can at least go into any BW account to restore if needed. It seems like there are a few options to backup per It was if BW was exposed to the Silicon Valley Bank collapse - I don't realistically think it is a problem, but it still in general makes me think it's prudent to plan if BW ever went bust. So a question I saw earlier renewed my anxiety about backups. Tl dr What is the best backup to do if BW ceased to exist overnight, taking the various security risk(s) into account too of any backup done?
